Welcome to The Rocks Discovery Museum and Foundation Park, both located on Gadigal land, a small walk away from one another. These historical and free sites showcase how early Sydney settlers transformed the Indigenous landscape into a lively colonial settlement.
We are examining and investigating these sites to highlight the artefacts which display to 21st century historians how First Nations peoples, convicts and working-class families lived and survived. The activities mentioned within the website have been developed to aid your students in acting has historians to investigate archaeological sources and resources, sandstone buildings and terrace floor plans which will supply them with the stories, struggles and experiences of the everyday people of Sydney cove circa 1870 (116 words).
